John Mayhew has worked previously for one of the largest fire protection companies in the world for over 10 years and had gained a very good reputation for his professional knowledge and excellent customer care approach towards customers.

John Mayhew has always believed that the customer is the most valuable part of any business and he wanted to set up a business that provided high quality service and equipment with a very competitive edge.

Fire Services and Supplies was formed in February 2009 by John Mayhew to provide fire protection support for national and local companies.

Fire Services and Supplies has over 900 contracts in the large, medium and small private sector and has also gained numerous contracts through tenders for town and district councils in the south west area.

Other businesses that Fire Services and Supplies are contracted to look after are Independent Schools, large paper mills, NHS Hospitals and the largest privately owned transportation company in the west country with transport networks covering the whole of the UK and mainland Europe.

Fire Services and Supplies is a BAFE and British Fire Consortium accredited company and works to British Standards and Quality Assurance standards which assist us to maximise and manage the business in a structured and formal approach whist also permitting flexibility.

The business is structured to enable capacity at all times to ensure we have the ability to carry out all of our contractual obligations.

We partner up with associations that offer full support elements regarding our legal duties. Examples such as PA Safety Services who offer and support us regarding full Health & Safety support from a Chartered Safety Practitioner. They provide a full range of documentation ranging from HSE guidance through to the latest British Standards. We have access to all BSI Standards and offer this within our contract to clients. We believe that other competitors have difficulty with issues such as these but we have entered into partnership agreements which give us the ‘competitive edge’.
